The Willamette Complex South consists of 7 fires and has currently burned 15,446 acres and was lightning caused. Hotter, drier weather conditions paired with heavy fuels contribute to increased fire activity. Observed and anticipated fire behavior includes column formation, smoldering, backing and the potential for occasional torching, flanking, and short-range spotting.
