East Lubbock Art House aims to address housing justice through mural event

LUBBOCK, Texas — The East Lubbock Art House will host Parkway Mural Fest on Saturday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 405 MLK Jr. Boulevard.

The event will use artwork, storytelling and narrative change to address housing justice, specifically for the eastern portion of Lubbock. Murals created by local teenagers will be featured at the event.

There will be resources regarding the issue including tenant rights information, housing justice, community resources and vendors for those wanting to learn more about the initiative.

The project is part of the Housing, Land and Justice Artist Fellowship through Race Forward.
