Albany police make arrest in South Pearl Street stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany man has been arrested after a stabbing. The incident took place around 10:40 a.m. in the area of the City Mission on South Pearl Street.

Police said an on-duty officer watched Devyne White, 25, stab another man in the chest with a knife. The officer responded, and White was taken into custody.

The 58-year-old victim was treated on scene for a wound to his chest.

White was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail.
