Albuquerque Fire Rescue gives students a tour of training academy

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue got the chance to show kids what it takes to become a firefighter. Battalion Chief William McMullen gave about 100 students from Explore Academy a tour of the department’s training facility.

Kids got to ascend the fire tower and see the burn building where firefighters practice. Battalion Chief McMullen also gave them a rundown on how a fire truck works and the required physical fitness test. AFR said the purpose was to leave students with a long lasting impression with the hope they may apply in the future.
