BROCKTON — In a crushing blow to downtown Brockton’s halting rebirth, Brockton Beer Company announced Friday it would close.
The locally owned brewery and taproom is among the handful of minority-owned breweries in the state. The 121 Main St. business announced the closure in a press release and social media blast on Friday morning.
“It is with a heavy heart that the Brockton Beer Company Ownership Group announces the closure of our taproom and kitchen in downtown Brockton on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024,” the company said in a statement. “We made this decision after careful and thorough consideration with our key stakeholders and exhausting all possible options to remain open. Ultimately, our current revenue does not cover our current and ongoing expenses.”
Brockton Beer said it would wind down operations through the rest of September. In a ” frequently asked questions” page on its site , the company laid out details like what to do with unused gift cards. The company made it clear they are closing for good. They aren’t looking for new locations.
