Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add Aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Season: Stir in the salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), elbow macaroni, and beef broth. Stir well to combine.
  6. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender.
  7. Mix in Dairy: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream and whole milk until well combined.
  8. Assemble Casserole: Pour half of the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Add the remaining beef mixture on top and finish with the remaining cheese.
  9. Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with dried parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
