Arrest made in July 8 shooting death of Leesburg man, 20. The defendant is 18.

A confrontation between two young men has resulted in the death of one and the arrest of the other, charged with committing a premeditated homicide.

Ondrique Dior Mosely, 18, was arrested in Lady Lake earlier this week. He has been jailed with no bail.

Mosely’s Facebook page, which has no content shared with the public, says he’s originally from Leesburg but lives in Lady Lake.

The case stems back to the afternoon of July 8 at 2:30 p.m., when Leesburg officers responded to a call about a shooting in the vicinity of the Overlook at Lake Griffin.

Officers discovered James Jordan Jr., 20, with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the front yard of a home in the 2200 block of Aitkin Loop.

“I remember this young came to Trugreen on a bicycle fresh out of high school,” a bereaved friend wrote on a memorial page for Jordan . “I believe and told him by the time your probation is up ya better have a car…. Sure enough he made sure I saw that he got one lol. Rest in peace young man it was an honor to work with you and get to know you.”
