Inked to a fresh four-year, $48 million contract this offseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder appreciate what Isaiah Joe brings to the table. As a dedicated deep-range shooter, the 6-foot-3 guard has evolved into one of the league’s most reliable 3-point snipers, delivering an indelible impact on winning games for a young team.
The best part? The guard is only 25 years old and very clearly ascending.
Why he is one of the best
In the age of analytics and third-level stats, distinguishing a good shooter from an elite one has never been easier. Despite playing a very modest 18.5 minutes per game, No. 11 cashed an impressive 147 3-pointers on the season, and he shot the long ball at a 41.6% clip, which was good for 18th best in the entire association.
But if you think Joe’s game comes down to stand-still shooting, think again. Although he converted 43.4% of his 3-pointers on catch-and-shoot attempts overall, his efficiency was (remarkably) even better with a heavy contest.
According to “NBA University” on X, the 25-year-old sharpshooter nailed over 61% on “contested” catch-and-shoot 3’s on 170 attempts last season.
