Wolfpack superfan Scotty McCreery releases ‘NC State Version’ of popular song

North Carolina’s Scotty McCreery has released a special version of his latest single featuring a shout out to his hometown alma mater.

Ahead of his upcoming Fall of Summer tour , the Garner native and North Carolina State University alum officially released a remix of his current single, “Fall of Summer (NC State Version).”

The 30-year-old “American Idol” country star, who won the show at just 17-years-old in 2011 , originally tweaked the lyrics of his hit song when N.C. State men’s and women’s basketball teams historic NCAA Final Four runs this spring— back when he even flew to Phoenix for a game hours before a show in San Diego.

Instead of the original “And I said you oughta come see me at state,” the Wolfpack superfan tweaked it to “I said come see at NC State.

Due to popular demand — after many fans putting their own twist on the song with their school name on social media — country music lovers can stream the special Wolfpack version of the song tweaked from what has become his most critically acclaimed album to date.
