Former Tennessee QB threw a touchdown that looked like it came straight from the Vols’ playbook

Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Tayven Jackson made the most of his opportunity with the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night in a blowout win against Western Illinois.

Jackson, who transferred to Indiana after the 2022 season, came into the game in the second half and immediately put some points on the board.

The former Vol completed 3-of-3 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson’s 69-yard touchdown pass looked like it came straight from Tennessee’s offense.

Jackson also rushed for a touchdown.

It’s easy to see why Josh Heupel and his staff signed Jackson during the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Unfortunately for the Vols, due to the embarrassment of riches the program’s had at quarterback the last couple of years, Jackson had to transfer to find some playing time.

It’s nice to see the former Vol finding his groove at Indiana. He’s currently a backup for the Hoosiers, but he looks ready to go if/when his number is called.
