Boulderite Misses Elks AGAIN: Estes Park WINS The Day

Again I headed to RMNP (Rocky Mountain National Park). I had to make it through the entry gates at Estes Park before 9 AM, lacking a timed entry ticket. Entry before 9 AM meant flashing my Golden Eagle pass and driver’s license and no more. I made it with at least 5-10 minutes to spare. I had taken the scenic route. I drove around the Park a bit, took some pictures, and decided that the elk where nowhere to be seen. Generally, people wisely view elk in the late afternoon. That is because the elk are THERE in the late afternoon. I have seen them earlier in the day, and I was hoping for similar luck. No such luck this morning. By 10:30 AM I was back in Estes Park with a modified plan. I walked around Estes Park for the day chatting with tourists. OK, chatting with other tourists.
