Diaper Dash raises money, supplies for local mothers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Runners of all ages race through northern Fort Wayne for the eighth annual Diaper Dash on Saturday.

Healthier Moms and Babies hosts the event to raise money to support their mission: to support moms in Northeast Indiana throughout pregnancy and after birth.

CEO of Healthier Moms and Babies Paige Wilkins said Indiana ranks 11th in infant mortality, and through spreading the word about, and raising money for, the organization’s mission, she hopes to improve that rank.

The race starts on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Parkview Family YMCA at 10001 Dawsons Creek Blvd. Registration is $25 online and $35 in person. Donations of baby supplies, such as diapers and wipes, are encouraged.
