Officers found two people dead inside a Gate Parkway residence late Friday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Members of the agency’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit responded to Gate Parkway for a separate investigation, according to a JSO release.
Police spoke via phone to the two people inside of a residence, who were seeking to turn themselves in. Detectives then heard gunshots inside of the residence and when officers made it inside, they located the two individuals dead. The individuals knew one another, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and it is classified as “pending.”
