Young and full of excitement, Brittanee Drexel set out for a spring break adventure in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2009, but tragically, the 17-year-old disappeared into thin air while moving between hotels , and her story remained a mystery for years – until now.
It wasn’t until a prison inmate tipped off authorities seven years later that they discovered the horrible truth: Raymond Moody kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered Brittanee. In 2022, he admitted his heinous acts in court and received life imprisonment for his crimes.
Moody, a registered sex offender, reflected on his actions, saying, “I was a monster,” during his sentencing on October 19, reports the Express US .

“I was a monster then and I was a monster when I took Brittanee Drexel’s life. I don’t have the words to express how horrible I feel and I’ve felt ever since that day. I’m very sorry,” were Moody’s remorseful words.
