CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Belmont University Volleyball Program (4-1, 0-0 MVC) wrapped up tournament play against host Chattanooga (6-1, 0-0 SoCon). The Bruins battled before falling 1-3. vs Chattanooga (23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 23-25) Chattanooga came out strong to start the match. The Bruins trailed until a kill fromBrenna Kauffeld sparked a 4-0 run for Belmont to claim the lead at 14-13. Brooke Gilleland added a kill to extend the Bruins’ lead at 17-15. The Mocs made a late push to reclaim the lead and force set point at 19-24. Belmont didn’t back down and rattled off four straight points to bring themselves within one at 23-24. Despite the comeback attempt, Chattanooga would finish the set on top 23-25.
