In-state foes Northern Arizona and Arizona are locked in a tight battle in the third quarter — with No. 20-ranked Wildcats leading the Lumberjacks 13-10.

Quarterback Noah Fifita connected with wide receiver Jeremiah Patterson on a 17-yard touchdown to retake the lead after trailing at halftime.

Some trickery first put NAU ahead as wide receiver Isaiah Eastman connected with fellow wide receiver Xander Werner for a 25-yard touchdown with 10:24 left in the second quarter. Marcus Lye added a 38-yard field goal to make it 10-3 at the 6:20 mark.
