Five cars damaged in fire at Springfield-Branson national airport

GREENE COUNTY, Mo. — A car fire in the Springfield-Branson National Airport parking lot damaged multiple vehicles late Saturday morning.

According to Kent Boyd, Public Information Officer at the Springfield-Branson National Airport, a man pulled into short-term parking at the airport just after 11 a.m., thinking his car’s radiator was overheating when it had actually caught fire.

Firefighters from the airport and the Springfield Fire Department responded to the fire in the airport parking lot and put it out.

A total of five vehicles were damaged as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported.
