Tracy Robert Blackwell was convicted in a jury trial of yelling racial slurs and throwing objects at the family’s vehicle as they entered the Interstate Highway 880 onramp at Hegenberger Road in May 2023.
Blackwell crossed multiple lanes and nearly struck the victim’s vehicle as he pursued them after being honked at.
Video captured by the mother’s teenage daughter allegedly showed Blackwell yelling the racial slur multiple times.
Blackwell faces up to seven years in prison.

Students and attendees of a football game at Watsonville High School were briefly locked down on campus on Friday night by police, after gunshots were heard near the school.
The shots were reported at 10:30 p.m., but people were still on campus following the school’s football game against Santa Cruz High School.
Nobody was reported or found injured in the shooting, which Watsonville police believe occurred near Maple Avenue and Bockius Street.

A man accused of stealing nearly $1,000 worth of copper wire from a hardware store has been charged with grand theft, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
