OCSO: Woman accused of abandoning poodle in hot camper

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A woman has been accused of leaving a poodle in a hot camper for several days in Bloomfield in early August.

On August 3, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a possible animal complaint on Routes 5&20 in Bloomfield and found a 9 to 10-year-old poodle that had been allegedly left in a camper for several days by his owner 44-year-old Autumn Lee.

According to the Ontario County Humane Society, the camper was found to have unsanitary living conditions including dog feces throughout the camper as well as rotting food covered in fleas and gnats.

The Humane Society said it was also excessively hot in the camper, and there was no food or water left for the poodle. There was also an untreated abscess noted under his right eye.

Deputies removed the poodle, and he was examined by a local veterinarian where tests were conducted for the abscess, and cancer was found spread throughout the dog’s body.

On August 29, Lee was found back at her home on 5&20 and deputies arrested her. Lee has been charged with Animal Cruelty and Animal Abandonment.
