Deerfield volleyball wins against Palmyra-Eagle and Beloit Memorial

After dropping the first set 25-22, the Deerfield volleyball team rattled off three-straight set wins (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) to win 3-1 against Beloit Memorial on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Beloit Memorial High School.

Senior middle hitter Cora Nelson led the Demons with 16 kills. Nelson also had six assists, one block and one ace.

Sophomore setter Neveah Schears had a team-high 15 assists, while senior Makayla Waack added 12 assists.

Junior outside hitter Riley Fisher had a team-high 17 digs, tied a team-high with two aces and was second on the team with nine kills.

Junior libero Lily Betthauser had 13 digs, freshman outside hitter Sydney Loerke recorded 12 digs, junior middle blocker Rowan Lasack had one block and freshman setter Tia Anderson accumulated seven kills.

Deerfield is 5-3 on the season.

The Deerfield volleyball team opened up Trailways-South Conference play with a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-23, 25-23) of Palmyra-Eagle on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Deerfield High School.
