Reader input: Fish & Wildlife has no solution for cougar problem

This letter is about the need for California counties to regain local control over wild animal kill permits. My wife and I keep a small herd of goats for weed and blackberry control on our Colfax property. Recently, a cougar jumped our stock fence and killed one. Knowing it would return to feed again on the carcass, we contacted the county trapper for assistance. But the trapper was unable to help us.
