MODESTO, California – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Modesto man, according to the Modesto Police Department. Shortly after midnight on September 6, 2024, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Citi Auto Sales, located in the 900 block of McHenry Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 43-year-old Jose Valdez of Modesto, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
