Good afternoon everyone. We have a fantastic day unfolding for most areas in the Northeast, although we do have some instability clouds over parts of New York and northern New England. That’s in response to cold air aloft interacting with the summer sun, causing some scattered popcorn showers and rumbles with some small hail possible. That being said, it’s all gravy from here on, with temps modifying into the mid to upper 70’s tomorrow, and we should see some 80’s with more sunshine Tuesday through Saturday.

We are still dealing with a swath of tropical moisture stretched from North Carolina, South Carolina, and down into Florida. While most of the rain in the Carolinas are light, Florida is dealing with locally heavy showers and storms. As stated in this morning’s article, some of that action could be on the locally severe side, especially more maritime interests. Look for locally strong winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the chance of a few waterspouts.
