Major climate conference to be held in Sarasota

SARASOTA — The Climate Adaptation Center announced its fourth annual Florida Climate Conference, discussing topics centered around “climate and human health.”

Set to take place Nov. 14-15 at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, the CAC invites community members to attend, according to a news release.

General admission tickets are $109.99.

“As the world experiences the warmest days in recorded human history, this conference will explore the profound and urgent impacts of a warming climate on human health, bringing together leading scientists, health care professionals, and community leaders to explore the intricate connections between our changing climate and public health,” the news release stated.

It was called an “interactive conference” to help “our community make better decisions for their family, their company, their government or their own philanthropy,” according to the news release.

Notably, the conference wants to discuss historical trends and climate insights affecting human health and what can be done to adapt to these trends.
