Wichita school board looks to move forward on bond

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Board of Education is considering moving forward on a bond issue.

On Monday night, members will vote on whether to call for a special election to pass a $450 million bond. The money would be used to pay for the facilities master plan , which calls for closing schools and building new ones. If approved, the special election will be on Feb. 25.

Also, at the meeting, the board will approve the transfer of the former Park Elementary building to the City of Wichita. The building will be turned into a Multi-Agency Center to connect people struggling with homelessness to resources.
