Mobile residents react to deadly Airport Boulevard accident: ‘Something needs to be done’

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Country Club Woods Subdivision residents are speaking out regarding Monday morning’s three-car accident on Airport Boulevard .

The accident involved a head-on collision, which resulted in the death of one person and injuring at least one more.

It marked the second deadly accident in two days. On Sunday, a deadly accident occurred just a block away at McGregor Avenue.

Mobile Police said Sunday’s crash marked the first traffic death on Airport Boulevard since Jan. 1.

According to several Country Club Woods Subdivision residents, car accidents occur way too often, and they need to stop.

“I mean, it’s regular all of the time,” one resident said. “It’s a regular occurrence.”

One man who witnessed the crash told News 5 that a female driver went across the median into oncoming traffic. MPD has not yet released the reasoning.

However, the resident believes other accidents are caused by speeding or heavy traffic flow.
