Jalen Hurts Takes Ownership for Turnover Troubles in Eagles Win

Through the course of the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles wanted to see quarterback Jalen Hurts take better ownership of his mistakes on the field.

Friday night gave the quarterback the perfect opportunity to do so.

After a mediocre game that saw him turn the ball over three times despite the Eagles’ 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia’s starting quarterback took the onus on his performance – while also giving credit to the players who helped the team win the game.

Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

“They showed up and had my back big-time at that moment after those two turnovers,” Hurts said. “Those are things that I control, and I have to be better at and I take accountability for that. But that’s what it’s about. You have moments where it’s like, Oh, well, we missed this opportunity, we didn’t take advantage of this opportunity, but how do we respond from it?”

Philadelphia needs Hurts to limit the turnovers, but it’s quite easy to see why the team should feel excited about the quarterback’s chances to improve over the weeks ahead.
