TLH airport gets another daily in-state flight, federal grant for infrastructure

Tallahassee International Airport is getting an additional daily flight to Tampa through Silver Airways and major federal funding for two infrastructure projects.

For the second time this year, Silver Airways is adding another route to serve Tallahassee as it expands its statewide network. The regional airline announced on Facebook its plans to add another daily flight from the capital to Tampa International Airport that will begin Oct. 7. The airline will also be offering a daily flight to Nassau in the Bahamas and three flights each day to Key West

In January, the Fort Lauderdale-based airline announced new flight service three times a week starting March 6 to West Palm Beach. It’s part of a strategic plan to access more destinations.

According to the company, Silver Airways is an independent regional airline that operates the most flights within Florida and between Florida and the Bahamas from its gateways in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa.

“Silver’s Caribbean network connects Puerto Rico with the U.S. Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Dominica and Santiago, Dominican Republic. Silver is a codeshare partner with United, JetBlue, American, Delta, Avianca and Copa Airlines, and has interline agreements with Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Azul, Bahamasair, Emirates and Hahn Air,” the company website said.
