Colorado Issues Firm Statement in Response to Accusations Against Deion Sanders

On Saturday night, Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes fell to the Nebraska Cornhuskers with a 10-28 final score in Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium.

The Buffaloes are now 1-1 to start the season, squeaking out a 31-26 win over North Dakota State in Week 1.

With this rocky start, Coach Prime and his Colorado program are already starting to feel the heat from national media.

College football analyst Jake Shapiro of DenverSports.com recently published an article with the headline “Deion Sanders’ style had nothing for Matt Rhule’s substance.” In the article, he accused Sanders of telling the Colorado band not to play the school’s fight song after his son, Shedeur, scores a touchdown.

“A year later and the fight song doesn’t even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn’t play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son’s song “Perfect Timing,” Shapiro wrote.

A Colorado spokesperson has since responded to this accusation against Sanders.
