STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Authorities allege that a 58-year-old city Department of Correction officer used a gun to hit an individual in the head in Tompkinsville. The assault occurred after a verbal dispute between the defendant and a man that began in the bathroom of a restaurant and lounge escalated in the wee hours of the morning, according to a law-enforcement source.
