City of Bakersfield begins Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Panama Lane

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The City of Bakersfield starting a major pavement rehabilitation project on Panama Lane, between Gosford Road and Stine Road, on Monday Sept.9.

The project, which will take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., which will continue through Friday, Dec. 27, 2024. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes due to expected cause of temporary lane closures and traffic delays.

The project includes removing and repaving the asphalt, adding new lane markings and thermoplastic striping, updating sidewalk access ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and making adjustments to manholes, and water valves.

Excessive heat continues Monday, mid-week cool down on the horizon

Officials also said construction work may be postponed and rescheduled without notice due to weather and other unforeseen conditions.
