Man, 27, killed in motorcycle crash in intersection on Columbus’ Northeast Side

A motorcycle rider died Monday evening after he was thrown off the bike in a crash on the city’s Northeast Side, Columbus police said.

At about 6:17 p.m., Rodrigo Hernandez, 27, was on a motorcycle traveling west on East Dublin Granville Road when a Ford van turned from eastbound East Dublin Granville Road to northbound Old Dublin Granville Road. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, police said in a news release.

Hernandez was ejected from the motorcycle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one in the van was injured in the crash, according to the release. The Columbus police accident investigation unit is investigating the crash.
