Motorcyclist makes speedy recovery after live-streamed crash on Bakersfield hwy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A motorcyclist is in the hospital, on the road to recovery after colliding with another vehicle on Highway 99 on Sunday.

The collision was recorded live on the biker’s social media, and the video has garnered an outpouring of support, in hopes she will continue to make progress

It started as another ride on Highway 99, recorded live by biker Rose Jamie on her Facebook Account. Then, biker Kimberlee Current said everything changed quickly.

“I looked up to Rose’s motorcycle skidding down the middle of the Highway 99 and I saw Rose tumbling,” said Current. “It was devastating, it was absolutely devastating.”

Jamie was rushed to Kern Medical, and put on a ventilator but in 24 hours that has all changed.

She is now off of the ventilator, breathing on her own, and making significant progress. Some could call it a miracle. Her close friend Anna Williams said it’s God.

“It’s all God, I’ve seen motorcycle accidents every day people lose their limbs, people are getting killed. Rose on the freeway flew hit the ground and she’s already off the ventilator, breathing and doing great,” said Williams.
