Dump drop off: City to host bulky waste item drop off this weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officials with the City of Bakersfield are set to host a bulky waste drop-off event Saturday.

The one-day drop-off event is set for 8 a.m. to noon at 15050 Stockdale Hwy. on Sept. 14.

City officials will be accepting furniture, mattresses, box springs, major appliances, electronics, water heaters and BBQ grills without a propane tank.

Propane tanks, construction materials, any items with refrigerant, items weighing more than 300 pounds and hazardous items will not be accepted.

Officials said an Aug. 10 event collected nearly 15,000 pounds of household trash and more than 4,000 pounds of metal. So far in 2024, city bulky item drop off events have collected nearly 125,000 pounds of trash.
