According to a USA press release, the new office aims to support the military community’s access to educational opportunities at the university.

The university shared that the new office can help new and returning students navigate military benefits, scholarships, and programs and provide support as they transition to college life.

“The Office of Military Services will become a one-stop shop for all military-affiliated
students, where all programs and services are focused on easing the transition from
military life to college life and creating an inviting and welcoming experience for our
veterans, service members, and their families,” the press release said.

Officials with the university said this is a much-needed improvement for the campus.

“It is critically important for the University of South Alabama to enhance our efforts to
help the men and women who serve our country, their dependents and veterans,” said
USA President Jo Bonner.
