Sept. 10 is National Hunger Action Day, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action. According to Feeding America, one in eight people and one in five children face hunger in the Heartland. In Nebraska, Thurston County has the highest rate of food insecurity at 17.6%.
