Residents of Tampa should brace for a wet and thundery week ahead. The area is expected to experience a high near 90 degrees today with scattered showers and thunderstorms increasing in likelihood after 5 p.m. The humidity, already high at 93%, will contribute to heat index values reaching as high as 100, creating sticky and uncomfortable conditions for those outside. Winds are set to remain relatively light, coming from the east-northeast at 5 to 7 mph. As reported by the National Weather Service, the chance of precipitation will sit at 60% with the possibility of less than a tenth of an inch of rain, although thunderstorms could bring higher amounts.
