2 people and a dog killed after shooting near Mackenzie Park

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department has confirmed that two people have died after a shooting near Mackenzie Park on Tuesday morning.

LPD said officers were called to the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive around 8:18 a.m. for reports of shots fired. Police said it was an isolated incident.

“One male was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a female was pronounced deceased at UMC,” LPD stated. “A dog was also found deceased at the scene.”
