Deputies: Albany man arrested for cocaine and fentanyl

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Albany County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of an Albany man on felony drug charges. John Jones, 52, was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The sheriff’s office conducted a narcotics investigation in the area of South Pearl Street and Madison Avenue in Albany after complaints from business owners about an uptick in crime in the area. Deputies say Jones was found to have about 20 grams of cocaine and six grams of fentanyl that were packaged for distribution.

Jones was placed in the Albany County Correctional Facility. He will be arraigned on Tuesday.
