Walking with ghosts: A guide to New Mexico ghost tours

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – As we get closer to Halloween, it’s becoming prime time to take advantage of all of the spooky features New Mexico has to offer. Luckily, you won’t have to brave the haunted avenues of the Land of Enchantment alone. The New Mexico Department of Tourism has highlighted some of the best ghost tours in the state.

Albuquerque

The Ghost Tour of Old Town Albuquerque

A staple since 2001, The Ghost Tour of Old Town Albuquerque has been featured on the Travel Channel and shows like Weird Travels, The Dead Files, and Dead Famous. This family-friendly tour features recounts of colorful characters who faced an untimely demise. Tours can be private or public and happen during the day and night.

Albucreepy Ghost Walk

Old Town isn’t the only place to find spooks in the Duke City. The Albucreepy Ghost Walk: Tavern and Tales features a 21 and over experience with a mix of spirits and stories of public hangings, duels, horrific murders, and locations haunted by those who have passed over to the other side. The 90-minute tour will cover 1.3 miles of historic Albuquerque sites including the KiMo Theater, Kiva Auditorium, old Bernalillo County Courthouse, the Wool Warehouse, and more.
