Community invited to inaugural Northern Colorado 9/11 Memorial and Stair Climb

The Northern Colorado community is invited to join local first responders Wednesday in a stair climb to honor the more than 400 first responders who were killed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Poudre Fire Authority, Colorado State University, CSU ROTC and other local first responders will participate in the stair climb at Canvas Stadium on Wednesday, the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The full climb will be equivalent to the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, according to the event invitation .

The event is free and open to the public. Seating will also be available for spectators, and concessions will be available for purchase, according to the event invitation. The stadium’s clear bag policy will be in effect.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m., with an opening ceremony at 4:45 p.m. and the stair climb beginning at 5 p.m.

Registration for those wanting to participate in the stair climb is strongly encouraged but not required. You can find a link to the event page on the Poudre Fire Authority Facebook page .
