$1.5M renovation will transform this Staten Island elementary school playground

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A Staten Island elementary school will soon undergo a $1.5 million renovation of its playground. Assemblyman Charles D. Fall (D-North Shore/Battery Park) was joined by education and school officials at PS 44 in Mariners Harbor on Tuesday to announce the allocation and break ground on the play area. He was joined by: Dr. Marion Wilson, superintendent of Staten Island’s District 31; Kevin Moran, chief school operations officer for the city Department of Education (DOE); PS 44 Principal Nancy Storms, as well as school staff, members of the United Federation of Teachers and students.
