Line, Bridge fire live updates: Mountain High ski resort threatened by Bridge Fire

New evacuations were ordered Tuesday as the 33,000-acre Line Fire continued burning its way through San Bernardino County, and the 34,000-acre Bridge Fire burned in the Angeles National Forest.

More than 2,000 firefighters worked to control the flames, which ignited Thursday afternoon in Highland. The fire is 14% contained, according to authorities.

On Monday, Operations Section Chief Jeremy Pierce said fire crews anticipated the fire would grow in a north eastern direction.

“We’re expecting it to have a very significant growth over the next 24 to 48 hours,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Bridge Fire burning through the Angeles National Forest since Sunday afternoon prompted evacuations as well, as the flames scorched more than 34,000 acres, according to CAL FIRE.

Mandatory evacuation orders were expanded Tuesday afternoon to include neighborhoods in Big Bear Lake, as well as the community of Wrightwood, and the Mount Baldy Village area from the dam to Mt. Baldy Resort according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials.
