Slight warmup Wednesday, afternoon showers possible

Wednesday started with areas of clouds sneaking in from the southeast. Temperatures are not as cool as the past few mornings with readings in the 60s across the area. It will be partly to mostly cloudy and warm Wednesday with afternoon highs ranging between 80 and 90 degrees. There’s also a chance of a few afternoon showers sneaking in from the east.

A few leftover showers are possible Wednesday night as temperatures drop into the 60s. The best chance of rain will be east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

A mix of sun and clouds on Thursday with afternoon highs near 90. Francine will continue to head up the Mississippi River away from North Texas.

Friday through the weekend is downright hot. Afternoon highs on Friday will reach the mid-90s, near 100 degrees this weekend.

A slight rain chance returns Monday and Tuesday with afternoon highs in the middle 90s.

As of 4 a.m. Wednesday, Tropical Storm Francine’s wind was at 90 mph. It’s moving northeast at 10 mph. The projected landfall is south of Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Louisiana late Wednesday evening. Francine will strengthen to 100-110 mph before making landfall.
