Hurricane Francine Expected to Make Landfall in Louisiana Today

Louisiana is poised to feel the effects of Hurricane Francine today.

According to Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, Hurricane Francine, upgraded yesterday from Tropical Storm Francine, is projected to make landfall in Louisiana today. There is a potential for life-threatening storm surges along the coastlines of Mississippi.

Francine will move into Mississippi overnight. Damaging winds of up to 65 miles per hour are expected, as well as heavy rainfall. According to MEMA, some areas in the southern portion of Mississippi might see up teo ten inches of rain.
