Nevada’s Lake Mead National Recreation Area Reminds Visitors To Behave When Enjoying Outdoors

The National Park Service at Lake Mead National Recreation Area is urging visitors to stay mindful of park rules to protect both the environment and their own safety. In a recent post, officials highlighted four important reminders:

  1. Pack Out Trash: Visitors are asked to remove all trash, including broken tents and litter, as it can harm wildlife.
  2. No Pool Floaties: Pool toys are banned at Lakes Mead and Mohave due to safety risks. Life jackets are required for water safety.
  3. Use Vault Toilets: These restrooms are available at many beaches, and visitors are urged to use them rather than nearby bushes.
  4. No Lifeguards on Duty: Swimmers must be aware of their own safety, as the park does not provide lifeguards. Life jackets are highly recommended to prevent drownings.
