Rockford elementary school placed on lockdown due to ‘disruptive visitor’

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police were called to Welsh Elementary after the school was placed on lockdown Wednesday due to a “disruptive visitor.”

Rockford Police responded to the school, located at 2100 Huffman Blvd, around 9:37 a.m.

A school spokesperson said the lockdown was lifted, students and staff remain safe, and classes would continue.
