SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Now that Francine has made landfall it will continue to weaken as it moves to the NNE overnight and into Thursday. We will continue to see swells moving from the Gulf into area beaches due to Francine. These waves can cause some dangerous rip currents to occur along area beaches through Friday night. There is currently a rip current advisory in effect from Punta Gorda or Boca Grande to Tampa Bay until Friday night.
