Upstate leaders attend Ten at the Top summit in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Hundreds of leaders and nonprofits from around the Upstate came together for a summit Wednesday in Greenville.

The theme of this year’s summit was “Maximizing Our Future.”

7NEWS anchor Amy Wood emceed the event at the Greenville Convention Center.

Futurist Rebecca Ryan was the keynote speaker at the event and described the theme as preserving the past while embracing growth.

“There is a way to preserve character and be inclusive of new people who are trying to create new businesses, go to school, bring their families here,” said Ryan. “This is a wonderful problem to have, but we have to frame it as an opportunity and stop thinking that it’s either this or that. It can be both.”

The summit also included a panel featuring Greenville Mayor Knox White and State Representative Chandra Dillard.

Ten at the Top is a nonprofit which promotes cooperation and partnerships among community leaders, businesses, and residents to improve economic vitality and quality of life across the Upstate.
