Remembering 9/11: A Day of Loss, Heroism, and Reflection.

September 11, 2001, is a day of meaning that consisted of meaning less acts that were committed by lowlife terrible people that concluded with heroics by great human beings. “As they were running in, we were running out.” 9/11 What we’re doing 23 years ago?

It was a day of loss, love, hate, anger, confusion, questions, defeat, unity, stress, heroism, reality, concern, fear, strength, regret, and hope. If I had to make a bet, I would highly doubt anyone would ever believe they can have all those feelings on one day for one life changing event in a person’s life. A little advice, never forget how you felt that day and carry those feelings with you for the rest of your life.

On a day of reflection some of these questions are often ask. Do you know where you were and what you were doing on 9/11? Do you have any regrets from that day? Do you wish you can change anything you did that day? All questions people have 23 years later, when hearing stories from people you know some say they do wish they did things different, some people do have regrets? I know where I was when the first tower was hit, I was at home on my off day. After the second tower was hit all New York City first responders were ordered by then Mayor Rudy Guiliani to report to duty under the emergency response plan, where Police Officers reported to the precincts near their residents if their assigned precincts were not in the area they lived in. If you lived and worked in the same borough then you reported to your assigned command. As a 23-year-old Police Officer two years removed from the Police Academy heading into work not knowing thee unknown.
